Your new opportunity

We are currently recruiting Support Workers to join our dedicate team in Mauchline, Achinleck and Kilmarnock. EASLS is a large housing support and care at home service delivering care and support to 44 individuals across East Ayrshire including Kilmarnock, Stewarton, Hurlford, Shortless, Mauchiline and Auchinleck.  We support individuals with learning and/or physical disabilities, autism, dementia, addiction, acquire brain injuries and people with a mental health diagnosis. Our role is to provide day to day support to individuals to enable them to live a fulfilled life and overcome any barriers of inclusion. The needs of the people we support differs from person to person, so it’s important that we provide person centred care to each person.  We provide support within people’s own homes and/or within the family homes.  We support people with financial and healthcare support, social inclusion support and enabling individuals to maintain their own tenancy.  

Working pattern Part time (between 16-30 hours per week). Early shifts (mornings), late shifts (afternoons/evenings), day shifts & sleepover shifts. Please note we managed shifts on a rotational basis where staff work a variety of shifts to meet the needs of the people we support and will include working weekends. Sleepover shifts are paid at an hourly rate of £10.90 and can also offer extra earning potential.

My name is Ben and I live in Kilmarnock. I have access to support at all times where staff are always on hand for anything I may need.  I look forward to my 1-1 support which I have several days a week.  When I have my 1-1 support I like to get out and about accessing the local area and amenities.  I have a keen interest in football, Rangers are my favourite team and I enjoy having chats with my staff about everything football.  I like to eat out and enjoy the occasional pint down the pub.  I am looking forward to going on holiday with my staff this year.

Hello, my name is Beth, I live in Auchinleck and have recently moved into my own tenancy. I am 19 years old. I enjoy playing Fifa on the xbox, doing weights and going to the gym and playing badminton. I need support for all aspects of my social life such as food shopping. I receive support 7 days per week.

My name is Andrew and I currently live in Cumnock but will be moving into my own tenancy in Mauchline and will receive support 7 days per week. During the night I will have support from the responder service if required. I need support for all aspects of my life. I enjoy listening to music, playing on my ipad and playing bowling. I like helping my support workers to tidy up my home.

What you will need to bring to the role

  • Compassion and kindness to support people in their day to day lives.
  • Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  • Ability to apply transferable life experience and skills to support and enable individuals.
  • Excellent problem solver who is driven by positive outcomes.
  • Resilient, reliable and an excellent listener.
  • Good IT & communication skills.
  • A full driving license is desirable.
