We also pay sleepover hours at £10.90 per hour.
Premium rate of £11.88 paid between midnight and 7am.
The James Shield Project provides an accommodation based housing support for young people and comprises 5 two bedroom flats each with a shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. The service is staffed by support workers 24 hours per day with a sleepover in operation. Many of our young people are experiencing complex trauma, many of the young people have secondary issues such as, self-harming behaviours, a history of alcohol & /or substance misuse, involvement in the criminal justice system, mental health difficulties, anger management issues and lack of family or social networks. They can also present with low self-esteem, poor social skills, challenging behaviour and a lack of trust in others, rejection and instability they have experienced in their lives.
We are looking for 3 dedicated Relief Project Workers to provide practical and emotional support that involves building positive relationships with the young people. This is a fundamental part of our support as is promoting positive role modelling.
Key Objectives and Accountabilities:
1 To ensure individuals supported by the project receive the best possible service at all times.
2 To create a safe, nurturing and enabling environment.
3 To develop a co-operative relationship with all relevant agencies and providers and to maximise the potential benefit to the individuals we support.
4 To contribute to the formation of operational policy and to the development of practice within the project.
5 To complete all necessary risk assessments to ensure risks are minimised and manageable.
6 To participate actively in team meetings, supervision and all other forums aimed at developing policy and practice.
7 To uphold the values, principles and policies of Quarriers and to operate within the specified guidelines.
8 To record all work undertaken to a high level of accuracy and detail.
Key Performance Outcomes and Measures:
1 Working within the relevant National Care Standards.
2 Working within guidelines set out in Codes of Practice.
3 Comply with relevant SSSC registration requirements
Despite all of the challenges our young people have faced/face the post can be very rewarding in terms of the support we provide.
We have an experienced, knowledgeable staff team and you will have mentor support as well as an open door policy to the management team. We offer excellent training for all staff both classroom based and Learning. We have an 8 week rolling rota for PW and 2 week rolling rota for Nightshift PW. We also have a bank of relief staff of which you could become a valuable member.
