Ever thought about a career in social care but not sure where to start? Are you someone who genuinely cares about helping others live their best lives? If so, come reach your full potential at Quarriers as a Support Worker within our East Dunbartonshire Adult Supported Living Services!

Your new opportunity

Our East Dunbartonshire services (Phase 3) are currently recruiting part-time Support Workers to join our growing team, supporting people across Milngavie, Bearsden, and Milton of Campsie.

As a Support Worker, you’ll provide compassionate, person-centred care to adults with learning disabilities and complex brain injuries. Support takes place within individuals’ homes (including family homes) and out in the community, engaging in activities that bring joy and purpose.

Every day will be different — whether it's helping with personal care, preparing meals, or joining in on hobbies like football, drama, music nights, gardening, shopping, or attending social events. You’ll play an important role in empowering people to lead fulfilling, independent lives.

This is a permanent, part-time role with contracts available between 20–30 hours per week. Shifts vary, and some weekend and evening work is required. Rota schedules are typically planned 4–6 weeks in advance to help you maintain a healthy work-life balance.

What you will need to bring to the role

  • Ability to build long-lasting, trusting relationships
  • Compassion and kindness to support others in daily life
  • Enthusiasm, reliability, and resilience
  • Confidence to use your life experience and transferable skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication – both verbal and written
  • A full driving licence is desirable, as some of the people supported have their own vehicles which can be used for outings, shopping, and appointments
