ABOUT US

Quarriers is one of Scotland's largest social care charities. We provide much-needed care and support for thousands of vulnerable children, young people, adults and families who face extremely challenging circumstances.

Quarriers supports thousands of people across 100 services throughout Scotland. Our work promotes a just and accepting society, where everyone is included. We support families facing challenging circumstances and give people affected by epilepsy a new life. We support young people to unlock their potential. We give adults with disabilities more opportunities, and importantly, a voice.

Quarriers has been transforming lives for over 140 years and this is just the beginning.

THE PROJECT

The project opened as a community-based house for people with learning disabilities in 1984 and most of the people living there had previously spent much of their lives in large institutions.

Developments in recent years have seen people move from the house into their own tenancies within the local community and the project now operates a "supported living" model of support to 18 people. The project now operates from office-based premises in a central location in Girvan which affords easy access for the people we support as well as the large team of support workers.

The project is also registered to provide community support to people who wish to access educational or recreational resources.
